Portraits

One of the many challenges of portrait photography is to try and capture the personality of the person you are photographing. Lighting is also a challenge. I’ve been working with a North West based group of photographers using different lighting techniques and patterns. These lighting patterns and make a huge difference to the look of the end result of the portrait. At home I use a Phottix Indra 500 portable studio light with an elinchrom soft box and this is useful as it is both portable and high powered. For a good portrait, one of the key things is to ensue the light is soft as it hits the face, this is know as feathering the light.
